I’ve seen a lot of first-time visitors coming to Hanoi planning to rent a car for the first time.

The thing is – it’s not as easy as you might think.

Having used our guide here, I’m convinced that this is the best way to experience amazing landscapes, avoid trouble with police and enjoy an unforgettable road trip in Vietnam!

For those who are interested, I created this article after many requests from people who were considering our offer but didn’t know what they were getting into.

I want to help you make your decision easier by showing how exactly do we go about renting one (and why) from Singapore Car Rental.

If you’re still undecided whether or not it’s something worth doing, read on. Hopefully by the end of this article you’ll know enough about the subject and find it interesting enough to research further (and maybe even book your trip with us).

This guide is written for people who don’t have a clue how renting a car works, so if you’re already familiar with the process – feel free to skip ahead .

If something’s not clear, please do ask question in the comments section. I want this information to be as useful as possible!

Finally, even though we were able to collect all this information from our experience driving throughout Vietnam over several years, there might still be some errors here and there. If you notice anything that needs changing or just have a suggestion about what else should be added here – contact us , we’d love to hear from you!

Why do I need a car in Vietnam?

Most people tend to think that renting a car is simply not worth the hassle.

Here are the top reasons why it’s worth doing: 1) You get to see more of Vietnam: One of the biggest let-downs I’ve seen was when my Vietnamese friend returned from his trip to Central America and we compared pictures. I saw all these amazing landscapes and he said – “Yeah, we were just in a bus for many hours and then stopped somewhere”. 2) Getting sick of local food? Everyone has their go-to dishes and drinks in Hanoi/Saigon/Mui Ne/Sapa, but it will be much easier if you try something completely new. You’ll be able to eat whatever you want at anytime and anywhere (including the most remote places in Vietnam). 3) Avoiding possible scams and rip-offs: If you know where to go and what to do – it’s unlikely that someone will try to cheat you. However, if you rely on a local driver or guide, there’s always a chance they might take you somewhere shady instead of interesting. Whether it’s an extra fee for visiting a place, overpriced food/drinks/transportation or just general dishonesty – this is not as uncommon as it should be.

If you’re looking for the best way to experience amazing landscapes, avoid trouble with police and enjoy an unforgettable road trip in Vietnam then renting a car from singaporecarrental.sg is definitely worth it! If you don’t know where to start – let us help.
